About the 2024/25 call
Google DeepMind and Makerere University renewed their collaboration to fund one scholarship in machine learning for the 2024/25 academic year. The call, updated on 3 May 2024, built on scholarships awarded in the 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24 academic years.
The scholarship supported a citizen of Uganda joining the MSc in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science track at Makerere University.
This is an archived scholarship call. The application deadline was 30 June 2024 and applications for this round are closed.
Eligible programme
Applicants had to apply for Makerere University’s MSc in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science track.
Proof of a programme application was required when applying for the scholarship. The scholarship could only be awarded after the applicant had secured admission to the programme.
What the scholarship covered
The award provided:
- full tuition fees;
- a stipend for living expenses;
- a laptop;
- medical insurance; and
- support to attend an artificial intelligence conference, with mentorship from the artificial intelligence community.
Eligibility
One scholarship was available for the 2024/25 academic year. It was open to citizens of Uganda.
